Factor Structure and Psychometric Properties of Brief COPE in Russian Schoolteachers

This study investigates the psychometric properties of brief COPE in Russian schoolteachers. A total 773 (91% female; M = 43, SD 9.79) teachers participated study. Principal component analysis (PCA) and confirmatory factor (CFA) were applied to assess COPE. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) was used construct validity. main result current research is a revised structure for consisting six sub-scales: «socio-emotional support», «religion», «acceptance», «problem-focused coping», «avoidance», «humor». goodness-of-fit criteria as follows: SRMR 0.054, RMSEA 0.064, CFI 0.888, TLI 869. Overall, version shows acceptable may be by researchers, school administrators, psychologists; however, reliability “avoidance” scale doubtful must considered before application.
